Aodh m. Old Irish áed 'fire'.

The name of an Irish god of the underworld, many numerous legendary, semi-legendary, and early Irish and Pictish kings, of two 6th C Irish saints, three 13th C Irish kings, a 14th C Irish king, and a 16th C rebel Irish king.

This name was often anglicized Hugh and occasionally as Odo (cf. Otto).
